Trattoria Il Cinghiale

Really wonderful food and owner. I normally don’t post reviews (this is my first review ever), but this place was just so lovely. Portions are huge (better for sharing), everything is delicious, and the owner seems very concerned in making sure everything is alright. They even managed to pack-up my leftovers for me, even though it’s not typically done in Italy.

Lunch today at this sensational restaurant was nothing short of perfect. From the warm and welcoming service, to the quality of food you would expect at a place 10x the price, all the while enjoying a beautifully classic fit-out of the place. If I could give 6 stars, I would. The owner is a lovely gentleman who offers just the right amount of information and hospitality. After moving from Australia to Italy a little over 2 years ago, I can say this is by far my favourite dining experience in Italy thus far. Davvero consigliato, non ho nient altro da dire. Proprio top. Vi ringrazio ancora e già non vedo l’ora di rivedervi!

I had dinner here with two friends and we really enjoyed it. We shared the antipasti to start and everything was fresh and very tasty. For my meal I chose the fettuccine ai funghi porcini as primi and the salsiccia rossa di Castelpoto as secondi. Both dishes were excellent and full of flavor. The portions are very generous, a bit too much for me, so I ended up taking some home. The service was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. A great place to eat in Benevento and one I would definitely recommend.

Just like my nonna’s kitchen. The chef, Antonio, is so kind. everything here is made from scratch, the pasta, the sauce, the wine the bread! it was truly a traditional Italian kitchen. I can’t wait to come back, I’ve travelled all over Italy this past month, and this is the best meal that I had. a true gem if you’re looking for authentic and quality Italian food!

Had a lovely lunch here - our Italian is not very good, and the host was very accommodating. Our group had a mixture of pasta dishes and lamb - all delicious.

this restaurant is a unicorn, just amazing. we have ordered a lot from the card, because it sounded very good, and we have not regred it. delicious, fantastic. whenever i come back to benevento, i know my restaurant. thanks for the wonderful dinner.

Small, authentic, local (i.e. seemingly non-touristic) establishment. The owner, Antonio, was very kind, the prices were very reasonable, and most importantly, the food was delicious. I would definitely return.
